That Triumph looks like a hell of a deal.

The Matchless that doesn't look like an abortion is pretty sweet, but probably a little pricey.
The Triumph is intriguing. It's either a great deal or really needs a bunch of motor work. It's not that correct so I wouldn't feel bad about sticking a hardtail on it

That matchless chopper could be made pretty cool looking with shorter forks, tank, and bars. But the asking price is about 5X what I'd pay.

I really wanted this Matchless. I think I could've done it justice

The seat should be taller with the pipes climbing the sides and the front end 3 times as long.

That seat wants to eat that tank after it finishes that sissy bar. A little mismatched, for sure. Some nice pieces I'd like to put on a proper Triumph, though!

Germ,
I didn't know you had any warm feelings towards hardtailing anything! Surprise, surprise.

I'm not against putting a hardtail on something that is far from stock. The project bike in my garage is going to have one when i get around to finishing the motor. I'm against stupid hack jobs, messing up a rare or semi-rare stockish bike, and people being so concerned about making their bikes look cool that they forgo essential things like front brakes.

That's a good philosophy for old bikes.
